 What is Worship?

“Worship is our response to what we value most.“ – Louie Giglio

People all over the world worship. Not everyone worships the One True God.

As a devoted follower of Christ, you live in such a way that honors the One and Only God who rescues and restores you from a life eternally separated from Him. Out of gratitude and love, WORSHIP is lived out 24/7 as you honor and respect your spouse, raise your kids, work with integrity, play with joy, love your friends and enemies in a way that reflects the character of Christ. In other words,

WORSHIP is a step-by-step journey to become more like Christ and honor Him above all else.

You are invited to join the greatest 24/7 event known to man. This invitation is a lifetime opportunity to know the God of the universe who desires to be your friend.  The God, who spoke the world into being, longs to breathe vitality and abundance into your normal everyday life. Knowing God requires a high price. You don’t simply wake up one morning with an automatic relationship with God. Huge goals demand your time and energy, and your relationship with God is no different. We often tell others about our love for God, however, the volume of our action is far louder than our words. For every minute, hour, day, month, year or lifetime you invest in your personal relationship with God, He will more than bless you and pour out His abundant spiritual, emotional, and physical blessing on you.

So begin today!

Get to know this God, your Creator, who adores you. Enter into this life of worship.

“Prepare to see God’s earth-shattering, mind-blowing, mountain-moving presence work in your life.” James MacDonald

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” – Apostle Paul (Romans 12:1-2)

Why is worship important?

What you worship is what you live for. You have two options, you either live for God, or for yourself. Worshiping yourself is completely opposed to God’s Word. We are to love God with all our heart, our soul, our mind, and our strength. When you replace God with yourself, you travel a very wide path that will lead to destruction.

God loves you more than you will ever be able to imagine.

He longs to rescue you from your past and restore your future.
You cannot rescue or restore yourself. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the price that you could never pay for your sin. Eastside Community Church worships God out of adoration, love, and gratitude for Jesus’ death and resurrection from the grave -- the full payment for our sin and death.

How can Eastside help me Worship?

What is my responsibility?

  • Eastside is committed to help you and your family know God in real, honest and deep ways.  Our role as a church is to equip you to live a 24/7 life of worship. As you know God more each day, you will worship Him more as well.

  • Sunday morning worship services are designed for your participation. You will hear Biblical truth and be challenged to live a God-honoring, all-out committed, fully devoted life for Christ.

  • Eastside will provide various avenues for your growth.  Classes, life groups, mentoring and opportunities to serve furnish you with the chance to find answers to your questions while expanding and cultivating your relationship with God.
  • Your responsibility is to follow through with your own growth.  Put into practice what you learn.  Read your Bible, pray, serve and obediently live out God’s truth.

  • Start today.  Ask God, “Show me your glory.” Read Psalms.  Practice what you read.

  • Check out 40 Days in Worship at (link to messages and handouts).  Personal worship journal is also available at Eastside Community Church.
